Taylor visited Rocky Mt. and other points in Edgecombe county this week. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Pluramer, of Durham, ure visiting relatives in towu and county. Mr. Gaston Foote, of Wake Forest College, spent several days hero with lelatives. Mr. E. P. Allen and little daughter, of Youngs villa, were Lore this week to see relatives. Mr. Sydney Abernethy left Wednes day for Macon, Ga., where he enters a business college. Our beBt wishes go with Sydney and we know he will succeed because he is made of the right stuff. Rev. D. L. Earnhardt, of the Ridge way circuit, has rented the Falkner residence aud has moved his family in town. Mr. Earnhardt wishes to get the advantages of our fine school facilities. Mr. Wheeler of Fleming's mill killed a hog, just before Christmas, that he Kot from Mr. Walter B. Fleming's Bridle Creek Farm. It was the O. I C. stock, 6 months and 2S days old and weighed, when dressed, 212 pounds it pays to feed such hogs. The public school for the town and surrounding country will open next Monday. Mrs. M. C. Our entire community was shocked wlipn it was announced on Christmas day that the above mentioned most ex cellent lady had breathed her last.
